POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, salaried, exempt
COMPENSATION: $45-55K, commensurate with experience
BENEFITS: All standard in coordination with employee handbook policies
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:
Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Manager will work to increase individual and corporate contributed revenue in support of Orlando Ballet with specific focus on corporate sponsorships, stewardship, cultivation, and fundraising events, including Orlando Ballet’s signature annual fundraiser the Ballet Ball.
Orlando Ballet is seeking a driven, self-motivated, solution-oriented, and highly organized individual with proven fundraising ability, strong writing and interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, a desire for a career in development, a sincere desire to grow with our organization, and a commitment to supporting Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate and enrich through the highest quality of dance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the development and execution of a corporate partnership strategy, and work in close partnership with the Philanthropy team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate prospects to support all areas of the organization’s mission
- Oversee planning, logistics, volunteer recruitment, and communications for all Orlando Ballet fundraising and cultivation events, including but not limited to: Open Rehearsals, Drinks with Dancers, Donor Pre-Receptions, Orlando Ballet School Parent Cultivation Events, the Nutcracker Boutique, and the Ballet Ball
- In close partnership with the Director of Philanthropy, create and execute a cultivation and engagement plan for Orlando Ballet constituents and guests attending cultivation and fundraising events, specifically Orlando Ballet School families and Season subscribers
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of constituent communication lists to support event invitations, annual fund solicitations, and stewardship activities
- Assist with the creation and fulfillment of accurate and current revenue, attendance, and prospect reports as requested by the Philanthropy team, Board Members, and other departments
- In close partnership with the Philanthropy Manager – Individual Giving & Stewardship, ensure that all event contributions are accepted, recorded, and acknowledged in an accurate and timely manner
- In collaboration with the Marketing & Sales team, oversee Orlando Ballet affinity groups, such as Orlando Ballet Ambassadors and Amigos del Orlando Ballet, to ensure meaningful engagement for members
- Assist with identifying and creating new affinity groups to meet need and demand
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy team, Sales & Marketing team, School management team, Community Enrichment team, and other colleagues to identify and cultivate new prospects for all funding streams
- Assist with the preparation and development of corporate benefit fulfillment reports and annual partner review documents
- Work closely with the Philanthropy team to:Create and promote consistent donor messaging
- Execute fundraising, donor recognition, and cultivation events throughout the Season
- Identify new or existing prospects for all funding streams
- Ensure that all donor and sponsor benefits are fulfilled
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting
- Identify and recruit volunteers and committee members to assist in supporting development initiatives
- All members of the Philanthropy team will oversee a prospect portfolio (levels and size of portfolios to be established)
- Serve on Orlando Ballet Board Committees as appropriate, including but not limited to the Ballet Ball Committee and Nutcracker Boutique Committee (in development)
- Support all aspects of the Philanthropy team as needed, including attendance of all Season performances, the Ballet Ball, the Nutcracker Boutique, and all fundraising and cultivation events
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a nonprofit development environment with event management experience and demonstrated results
- Proven track record of ability to work independently, with great attention to detail and flexibility, in a fast-paced atmosphere under established time constraints
- Excellent organizational, writing, customer service, and communications skills
- Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in philanthropic studies or nonprofit management
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a nonprofit development environment with demonstrated results working with corporate partners
- Professional background in nonprofit arts environment
- Personal passion for the arts, particularly dance
- Experience with digital communication platforms, specifically WordFly
- Experience with donor management and wealth screening software (particularly Tessitura and iWave)
- Basic graphic design, photography, and video capability, ie. experience with Canva or other similar platforms
