18th Annual Lake County Folk Festival

Folk, Fun, Family and it’s Free!

The Annual Lake County Folk Festival celebrates 18 years on October 10th and 11th, with musicians, crafters, and artists converging to Historic Downtown Eustis and beautiful Ferran Park on Lake Eustis.  This family oriented music event is the longest running FREE folk festival in the state of Florida providing a truly unique cultural experience for all ages.

At least 9 different venues throughout the downtown and lake front provide the setting for over 50 groups and more than 100 musicians with a variety of music styles, including: Original, Blues, Celtic, Jazz, Traditional and Modern Folk.

Besides performances, there are workshops, several jam areas and a popular “Funniest Folk Song” contest on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.  Again this year on Sunday, October 11th from 1:00 to 3:30 PM, the Florida Music Food Initiative (FMFI) will partner with the Festival and hold a special “Busking for Food” event.

Many of the performers at the Festival have donated a song to a FMFI produced double CD and will be invited to “busk” their song.  Proceeds from the sale of the CD and ‘tips’ will go to the FMFI to generate funds for and highlight awareness of individuals and families experiencing hunger and homelessness here in Florida.

Also, the FMFI will be hosting a food drive, with all food items donated locally.  Non-breakable, non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Public House during this event.

In Ferran Park Food vendors will be offering their specialties, as well as other vendors from around the state will exhibit their wares.  A Children’s Area sponsored by Len the Music Coach will feature fun & educational musical activities.

The two-day festival’s hours are Saturday, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Saturday evening’s Sunset Performances will be in the beautiful lakeside setting of the historic Alice McClelland Band Shell.

This event, produced by the Public Arts & Music, Inc., a 502(c)3 not for profit, is operated by a totally volunteer effort.  As a free festival we rely on tax deductible sponsors and donations, as well as volunteers.  If you’re interested in becoming a PAM sponsor, vendor or volunteer contact or call 352-408-9800.
