Create artwork for the Mosquito Control Building to be constructed in the Pine Hills Community. The selected artist will receive $68,500. DEADLINE: February 20, 2022 (midnight MT).

Project Description
The Orange County Public Art Review Board seeks one or more artists or artist team(s) to develop artwork for the Mosquito Control Building to be constructed in the Pine Hills Community. The building will house an entry lobby, conference room, offices, laboratories and garages to aid in their work. Pine Hills is one of Orlando’s first suburbs developed in the early 1950’s—a community consisting of many world cultures. The panel seeks unified designs representing the community’s diverse and inclusive values as well as environmental elements. Florida’s flora and fauna are as diverse as its people.

Possibilities include, but not limited to:
~ Art and images embedded in walls and floors
~ Stained glass or glass Installation
~ Free-standing sculpture
~ Kinetic sculpture
~ Metal work
~ Mosaic
~ Mural

Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs uses the CaFÉ online service for its public art selection process. There is no charge for artists to register with CaFÉ.
