Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker

Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker will return to the DPAC  Walt Disney stage, November 27, 2021, Thanksgiving weekend.   Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker is a modern-day holiday production of the Nutcracker Ballet.   Seeking more diverse representation in the Arts inspired, Beverly Page of Orlando Community Arts, Inc., to create the modern adaptation of the classic Nutcracker with a soulful spin.  Set against a backdrop of 19th-century brownstone and modern high-rises, Harlem becomes the center of this festive holiday production.  Unlike the traditional Nutcracker opening scene inside Clare’s home, this modern holiday opening scene takes place in Clare’s Harlem neighborhood with a street party.  The scenes are filled with pageantry of dazzling costumes, choreographed dance scenes by professional dancers and choreographers, and local children from underserved communities.  Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker is excited to welcome Dominiq Luckie, Principal dancer of Ballet Memphis as the Chocolate Nutcracker Prince.
