Creative Arts for Life-Music Class for Seniors

Come and sing some of your favorite songs from show tunes to Sinatra.  You will be introduced to some vocal and breathing techniques with the added bonus of learning to play percussion instruments.  Drums! There will be a Performance/Celebration at the end of the semester.  Classes are 1 hour Tuesday mornings from 11am to 12pm. Studies show that participants in the arts groups: used less medication; had fewer doctor visits; experienced elevated mood; showed an increase in the level of independent functioning; did better on scales for depression, loneliness and morale; and exhibited an increase in activity.  (Creativity Matters – The Arts and Aging Toolkit)
