Czechoslovakian Independence Day

Presented by Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens at Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens, Winter Park FL

Oct 25 2015
Czechoslovakian Independence Day

To recognize the creation of a free and independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, all visitors to the Museum will be admitted free of charge, in honor of our founder, Albin Polasek’s, heritage as a Czech/American. Revisit WWI history and learn about America’s pivotal role in forming the nation of Czechoslovakia. A collection of Czechoslovakian objects will be on display, as well as the commemorative bust of the recreation project of  Polasek’s 1928  statue of US President Woodrow Wilson for Prague, the original bronze of which was  destroyed by the Nazis during WWII, and later all partial castings nearly completely destroyed by the Communist regime. Learn about Czechoslovakian history and culture and embrace your own ethnic roots as we honor an American immigrant’s success story, Mr. Albin Polasek.  A hands-on art activity and light refreshments provided.
