Downtown Clermont Art Festival
9th Annual. 2015’s theme: “DCAF – Champions for the Arts”. 50 carefully selected juried top-tier artists from Florida and beyond (WI, ME, MA, GA, IL, TN…) based on recent years’ artists. This is the first year DCAF is limiting the number of artists to only 50 juried artists. Our vision is to become the best, small Fine Art show in all of Florida – with 2015 being the initial year of “exclusivity”. Why 50? We envision an art festival that allows patrons/collectors proper time in the proper atmosphere — not packed and pushed to see 300 artists’ works in a few short hours. Plus, artists and guests can visit without feeling hurried. Art is important and personal. The “Champions” theme reflects the City of Clermont new brand: “Clermont – Choice of Champions”. Featured Artist 2015: Benjamin Peterson, Tampa area sculptor. Previous Featured Artists: Brandy Reneé (Winter Park, 2014); Pat Percy (Davenport, FL, 2013); Wm. (Bill) Bernoir (Groveland, FL, 2012); Gesa Barto, Eustis, FL, 2011). By creating an exclusive show of 50 top-tier, outstandingly creative artists with superb technically skills and execution, art patrons are assured their time spent in Historic Downtown Clermont allows them to see phenomenal work while they become acquainted with the artist without feeling rushed or pushed through the relaxing, high-quality event. This also assures participating artists that their work is being included in what will become one of Florida’s “must do” Fine Arts shows. Five categories of awards (2D, 3D, Fine Craft, Photography, Jewelry) plus other awards including Best of Show. MainStage music featuring outstanding groups/musicians (jass, blues); KidsZone – free interactive creative activities for youngsters of all ages; Street Players throughout the festival; Food including vendors and local casual eateries; Open Container in designated area. Show hours Nov 7 (Sat) 10-5; Nov 8 (Sun) 9-4. Friday evening set up includes free concert series – Music on Montrose and gourment Food Trucks. Saturday: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast til 11:30am; Artists/Sponsors/Volunteers Awards/Recognition Reception Dinner 5:30-8pm. Sunday Farmer’s Market adjacent to DCAF area.
