The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens invites the community to see with their hands, travel with their ears, and to experience the untapped facets of art during Inclusion Day—Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. Inspired by the perseverance of its differently-abled founder, Albin Polasek, and its year-round mission to make art accessible to all groups, the museum presents a day dedicated to celebrating the individual uniqueness that creates a vibrant community tapestry. In conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit, “Sight Unseen: Touchable Sculpture” (open until April 17, 2016), the event showcases work by students of the VSA, the State Organization of Arts and Disabilities. A special presentation by the VSA will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Historic Capen-Showalter House, followed by a blindfolded cane walk in the gardens led by The Greater Orlando Council for the Blind at 2:00 p.m. Art activities will be available throughout the afternoon in the sculpture gardens, where at 3:00 p.m. there will be a musical performance by Rhythm Morphosis featuring tribal sounds from around the world. Limited onsite parking is available for $5.00 per vehicle.
