Introduction to India Arts

Elementary-school students! Spend a week learning about the multiple cultural aspects of India. Learn yoga poses, Indian dance combinations, experience various Indian foods, and be introduced to South Asian and Indian musical instruments. This partial-day weeklong camp includes instruction in yoga, Indian and South Asian music, Indian and South Asian dance, languages, festivals, and activities associated with these areas. Children will be exposed to Indian and South Asian traditions, food, and art forms. Specialists in each of these cultural areas will work directly with children to teach yoga poses, dance combinations, and techniques for playing Indian and South Asian musical instruments.   Instructors include Surabhi Adesh, Sudeshna Maulik, and Jigisha Jhaveri.
