Modernism Museum is bringing another spectacular show this February! Central Florida band “iU” will be delighting the audience with a slight departure from their usual style: a mix of alternative and jazzy renditions of popular love songs from throughout the last century. Whether you are coming in pairs or not, don’t miss this special Valentine’s Day show!
Led by front man and founder, James Powell, a vocalist with a degree in Performance Piano from Rollins College, iU (Inter-United) band is a collaboration of some of the most talented singers, songwriters, poets, and recording artists in Central Florida. Among these are vocalist Heidi Moreau, bass player and sound engineer Preston Moreau, drummer and sound engineer Austin Gibson, singer/song writers Cory Murdock and Aaron Holmes.
The band has traveled overseas to China on 4 tours, most recently in the winter of 2014 through the Yunnan Province. The boss of the biggest production company in Mengzi saw the show at Honghe University and has asked to collaborate with iU band in playing corporate shows and also bringing a music festival to the city.
iU’s eccentric and energetic performances make each of their shows unique and memorable. What sets them apart, however, is the purpose for which they play music. The iU mission is to use music as a tool to make friends at home and internationally, because friendship is the most powerful force in the world. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a reception with sparkling wine & hors-d’oeuvres, and the show will start at 7:00 p.m. Viewing of the museum will be available during intermission and after the show. A perfect night for celebration!
