The Escuela de Bomba y Plena Tata Cepeda, Inc. (EBPTC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 by Barbara Liz Ortiz, eldest daughter of Margarita “Tata” Cepeda, with the support of a group of committed collaborators who love our culture. Since that time, the EBPTC has been dedicated to promoting Bomba and Plena as representative elements of the rich culture of Puerto Rico through study, teaching, cultural event production and artistic presentations.
EBPTC’s inaugural event will be a milestone for the diaspora of Puerto Rico. The dance performances will be intriguing, entertaining and engaging. The technical diversity of the dancers combined with the eclectic curation of each musical performance will showcase an art form full of surprises and beauty. Come and see culture and elegance in La Magia de los Tambores and be moved through the intimacy of a live performance.
