A volunteer choir of over 100 voices, professional soloists and local professional orchestra provide a world class free performance of “Messiah” conducted by highly respected Dr. John V. Sinclair.
The organizational mission of the Messiah Choral Society (MCS) is twofold: 1) provide an opportunity for diverse community singers to learn and perform Handel’s “Messiah” and 2) provide a formal performance of Handel’s “Messiah” free to our diverse community. MCS performs the “Messiah” exclusively. Through performance of Handel’s “Messiah” and community collaborations, we stimulate the creative economy of Central Florida.
MCS is unique in its dedication to a goal of presenting a free professional quality performance of a major classical work to the people of Central Florida on an annual basis. We are committed to providing cultural enrichment available to all, regardless of income level, age, and physical disability as well as offering educational outreach through open sings and opportunities for local choral students and other members of the community to learn the intricacies of this masterwork. We aim to foster vibrant and healthy community participation in the cultural arts.
