Professional artists in North Central Florida open their private working studios to visitors for the annual Off the Beaten Path Florida Arts Tour for three weekends in early 2019. Studios in the East Volusia region will be open February 9-10, the West Volusia locations will be open February 23-24, and the Lake County studios, March 30-31. The studios will be open for all ages—free of charge—on the three Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, and on the three Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Visitors enjoy meeting the artists, seeing where they work, and, in some cases, seeing demonstrations of some of the processes. Most of the artists provide light refreshments for patrons along with exhibits of their work, of which many are for sale. The varied types of art include paintings, sculptures, textiles, jewelry, woodworks, photography, printmaking, illustration, and ceramics. Visitors can download the maps to follow and the full-color Studio Guide at FloridaArstTour.com.
