Coming to Osceola Arts in March! The Evolution of Innocence: Works by PJ Svejda on display in the Studio Gallery from March 1 through April 1

“It is said that only children and animals are truly innocent beings. How quickly society and its influences take hold of that innocence. The rapidly evolving change can be witnessed as clearly as a seed spouting and growing over a short time. Animals are turned into pets, adorned with clothing, accessories, and an abundance of toys, none of which is the natural design. Children become distracted and the need to occupy their attention only grows more intense as they age. Toys turn to games and games turn to apps which leads to behavior that fills a subconscious need for validation. The struggle to resist the pulls of the world is a difficult one and choices become less and less accounted for in this uniquely divided culture.” PJ Svejda

PJ has been involved in activism for environmental, animal, and human rights and has found a way to merge her passion for art with her desire for change. Her paintings tell stories of pain and hope and raise the viewer’s self-awareness into their own humanity; urging increased consciousness of the time we spend here on earth.
