WGHF Annual Citrus Crate Label Show
Vendors from all over Florida gather at the Winter Garden Heritage Museum to show, sell, and trade collectible citrus crate labels. These iconic relics of Florida history were pasted onto wooden citrus crates to catch the eye of prospective buyers. Citrus packing companies vied with one another to create colorful, eye-catching designs- many of which have become highly sought after.
Don’t miss this chance to take home a slice of Old Florida! This event takes place during Spring Fever in the Garden, Winter Garden’s annual garden festival that takes place along Plant Street in Historic Downtown Winter Garden. This year we will also be featuring Jim Cusick, who will demonstrate how to access the vast online collection of crate labels from the Jerry Chicone, Jr. Crate Label Collection housed at the Unvversity of Florida George A. Smathers Library; and Brenda Eubanks Burnette, who will be signing copies of a new book, co-authored with Chicone, titled Florida’s First Billboards.
FREE ADMISSION; vendors sell citrus crate labels.
