Workshop – Exploration of Clay Surface on Hand Made Tiles

Saturday, January 16 and Saturday, January 23, 10am-3pm

NOTE: This is a two-day workshop that has sessions on two consecutive Saturdays.

In the first day of the class you will create tiles with clay. Emphasis will be on texture, relief and sculpting. These tiles will be fired in a kiln and brought back to the class for the second session where you will decorate the tile surfaces with various glazes which will use fired and some unfired decorative surface techniques. Katherine will include a combination of hands-on guidance and demonstration of techniques. Supplies will be provided by the instructor.
