THE EVERETT SPRUILL FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS INC. EST 2008
EIN# 26-1699850
MISSION
The Spruill Foundation realizes its mission by mentoring young and emerging artists, hosting and presenting public art programs, including school-based programs featuring African American Art and Culture; providing support for and encouragement of museum exhibitions and new research on artists of the African Diaspora and their contributions to twentieth-century art.
Over the next several years the Foundation will focus on two main program areas: legacy-based and grant-giving. The legacy-based programs are directed toward preserving and making African American Art publicly accessible. The grant-giving programs will focus on local initiatives which are established to nurture the professional development of young and emerging artists, as well as the creativity of young children through school and community-based arts education programs. The Spruill Foundations’ ultimate goal is the establishment of an Institution dedicated to the preservation and collection of African American Art and artifacts, and serving the greater community by housing all of the Foundation’s collections, programs, and activities.
