This is a madcap, fast-paced farce about the pretentions and desires of the middle class in noble circles of 1670’s France. Moliere’s satirical comedy features a rising member of the middle class who lusts for social status and higher learning in order to win the hand of a marchioness – disregarding the inconvenient fact that he is already married – but only succeeds in making a fool of himself. Directed by Kathleen Lindsey.
