Memories
"Growing up on a lake in the Mississippi delta, I spent a lot of time alone, surrounded by natural beauty. My pots are simply reflections of my love of nature in its purity of form and surface. Technically, my work is hand-constructed or cast and altered of terra cotta, then burnished with terra sigillata, a fine clay slip. The work then is usually pit-fired outside in hay, sawdust, bamboo and other plants. Hopefully, the pieces I made for the Ocean Center reflect my love for the natural beauty of Volusia County. I am so delighted and honored to have my work chosen for this magnificent new building.” – Sang Parkinson Roberson
