“My art is a cumulative process made of my life experiences and my desire to sculpt the human form. I try to retain in the sculpture the beginning strokes and gestures because they contain the truth of the spirit. As subject matter, I attempt to select a moment with which all of us can relate on a personal basis. These moments span all generations, depicting universally recognizable scenes. My goal with ‘Sail Away,’ ‘Seashore’ and ‘Shoreline’ was to capture an expression of the human experience causing the viewer to reflect and evaluate the importance of love, relationships and achievement.” – Jane DeDecker

Sol Tracker

“My art relies on an understanding of the interplay and interdependence among art, architecture and engineering. The design approach for ‘Sol Tracker’ was to focus on the entire entrance atrium by utilizing dichroic glass and aluminum to take full advantage of the natural and artificial light. These elements produce a kinetic experience of form, shadow and color as the viewer moves through the spaces and the sun transits across the sky. The thematic focus is water and light.” – John Rogers

Sonic Vortex

This mural is loacted in the Alley behind Ralph's Art Supplies. After projecting the design onto the building, community volunteers literally painted circles around themselves, on doors and awnings to create this amazing visual mural.

Starmato

Artist Statement: "Art is how I practice achievement. My design process is random and sparked by something I am interested in. I imagine something, then create it. Starmato is the tornado created when starfish play on an under-the-sea bush and pop out a tomato wedge. The sculpture is also adorned with some jellyfish made of tractor parts for fun, along with a lot of seaweed." Christi Kapp

Still Rising

“Still Rising,” depicts children of various racial backgrounds seated on a large open book held aloft by a giant hand. The celestial background gives way to a prominent road leading from the children to a futuristic city at the apex of the painting.

Peggy Banks is an award-winning artist who exhibits her work locally, regionally and nationally. Her mixed media pieces have been collected throughout the United States and Europe.
